Toddlers

How do I know what my child is doing throughout the day?

Our Toddler Room Staff complete a daily sheet every day. This sheet includes your child's meals, diaper changes and potty times, circle time activities, nap time, and other activities your child did throughout the day.

What will your child be learning while they are at Little Red Wagon?

The toddlers work on many skills to get them ready for the preschool room! They include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Reading books (individually and as a group)
  • Sensory Play-We do all kinds of sensory activities. There are many different sensory activities but some of our favorite include water, rice and Jell-O!
  • Potty Training-In the toddler room we focus on helping your child get comfortable using the toilet! We do this based on the readiness of the child.
  • Music, dancing and singing
  • Throwing and Catching
  • Outside Play (Running, Walking, Marching)
  • Practice learning colors, shapes, numbers, letters, and simple sign language words
  • Cleaning up after themselves
  • Painting and coloring along with many other arts and craft skills

What is Little Red Wagon's goal when it comes to my toddler?

The main objective in our Toddler room is to teach the children their roles in the huge world they have entered. We focus on things like using our manners along with simple tasks like using a spoon properly and how to wash our hands. Each Toddler will be taught at their own pace and encouraged to use the potty when they are ready for it.
